Nayatel outperformed competition to win Higher Education Commission (HEC) Project - 7th, July 2007
Nayatel has been awarded the prestigious Pakistan Educational Research Network (PERN-II) project by Higher Education Commission (HEC). The project awarded after open competitive bidding, involves installation and commissioning of a 10 Gbits optical fiber ring to connect 18 Universities in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Nayatel would provide dark fiber of 207 km length for this connectivity to be put online within next 3-4 months for contract duration of 10 years.
The competitors in the run for the project were PTCL, Wateen Telecom and Multinet. Nayatel was ranked No. 1 in both technical as well as financial evaluations.
This landmark achievement coincides with the MBL completing its fifth year of leadership in broadband market since we rolled out country’s first ever DSL services on 09 July 2002.
